This kinetic installation addresses the exploitation of coal in the largest open-pit mine in South America, located in Colombia, and its connections to German energy policy. The object on the ground interacts with a surface of coal, and through its circular movement, it generates a simultaneous process of construction and destruction.
« (...) One could say that it is a machine that endlessly draws a circle and then destroys the
drawing over and over again. This work could be a symbol of endless, meaningless loops and self-exploitation.»Sunah Choi.
